'Night Watchman'
I have been out on hundreds of street corners with my easel talking about Jesus to curious onlookers; however, this was only my second night excursion. Painting and evangelizing at night is not as difficult as it might seem if you are standing in the light (street light) : )

The team I traveled with joined a host church in Stratford, England to take the gospel to the streets. They took us to a busy commercial district in East London that was still bustling with people; even after 8:30 PM. It was also a time of *peril as we discerned then, but would learn in more detail a few days later.

I pitched my easel under the street lamp and began to paint the Stratford Town Hall across from me. Several people stopped to see what I was doing. I shared Christ with them. As I continued to paint, I caught the attention of four teenagers milling about. I invited them over and asked them if they had any interests in art. Their answers ranged from little to none. So I asked them what talents God had given them. Now things really got interesting. Only one of the teens knew God and expressed purpose in life. I was pleased to hear of her close relationship with Jesus. I presented the others with some scriptures that spoke about new life in Christ, then asked them if they wanted to know God the way their friend did. Two of them said 'yes'. However, when I lead them in a prayer of salvation, all of them joined in.

*Our return flight to the US came on the very day when a plot was disclosed that terrorists had been making plans to blow up flights from London to the states. Some of the suspects lived in the same parts of East London where we had been ministering.
