WOW (Winning Our World International) came to Pasadena in June of 2014. WOW Jam and threw a street party. It was complete with a free barbecue, music, drama, games and prizes. They loved on people in practical ways like giving away groceries, haircuts, bike repair, family photos and much more.
WOW exists to reach a confused and captive generation with relevant and powerful music full of the life giving light of Jesus Christ. They also to partner with the local Churches. They challenge believers to actively pray for and participate in reaching this and future generations with the message of Jesus Christ.
Among the participants in WOW were my friends at the Women’s Pregnancy Care Clinic, located in Pasadena. They’re doing great work in offering alternatives to abortion. Please throw your support to them.
‘En Plein Air’ is a French term which simply describes the art of painting outdoors. Much of the ministry of Jesus was outdoors on dusty roads and in the marketplace. Therefore, I always welcome Him to speak through me as curious onlookers come to watch me paint. It was a thrill to unite with WOW (though unofficially) in spreading their mission to give the light of Jesus.
I had a stream of onlookers to stop by my easel as I painted at Pasadena City Hall. Everyone from spectators to WOW volunteers to police officers stopped by my easel. Sometimes we give so much attention to reach the unsaved that we overlook our own brothers and sisters in Christ who need God’s touch. I had the pleasure to share scripture and words of encouragements with a Christian man who had left his job as a school teacher. He admitted to being discouraged in teaching in the public school system and was seeking God’s direction for a new career. I prayed with him.
