Parable of the Ai Volcano Explained

In part 1 of Ai Volcano, I wrote a parable of sorts. I suggest you read the parable first in order to get the most out of this explanation.

Parables were a method of communication Jesus often used when teaching. The Bible (book of Mark, chapter four) records a series of parables He taught to a crowd of people.

When He was alone with His disciples, Jesus explained the parables to them so that they could better understand the meanings.

 With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.

Please allow me to explain to you the Parable of the Ai Volcano.

You

You are the volcano located in the center of your island. We all could erupt like a volcano at any moment. Every parent can testify of having seen their precious infant child erupt on occasion. We’re born that way.

Sin

The honey (aka: lava) is sin. Lava exists at the core of our being. For some, it erupts like a volcano. For others, it simmers beneath the surface rumbling, causing hidden pain and anguish. A few people might go through life barely aware of the taste of honey and lightly touched by its affects. Nevertheless, the end of life will reveal all things.

Satan

The honeyoligists are Satan and demons. They often offer flashy, fun and exciting things. We may enjoy those things for a moment, but eventually they grow old, break down, need upgrading or otherwise lack lasting fulfillment. Today, the honeyologists are developing technologies that promise to help us but threaten to kill us. One thing that can be certain about Satan et al. Their goal is always to steal, kill and destroy. Satan is a thief and the master honeyologist.

People

The WildLifers are everyone born into the world (except for one). These are fellow actors in our drama.

Followers of Jesus

Lifers were all former WildLifers who believe in the one exception. They came to the realization that if they would invite Jesus into their life, He would empty and remove the sour honeypot and replace it with the Word of life. Be born…again this way. Invite Jesus into your heart today.

Planet Earth

There is coming a day, or it might be better said, the day has come when the earth and its inhabitants will face the the darkest of days in human history. The darkest of those darkest days will last for seven years.

The book of Revelation states that a third of earth’s trees will be burned and all green grass. A third of sea creatures will die. A third of mankind will die of plagues.

Before this happens, the born again followers of Jesus will be raptured from the planet and taken to heaven. At the end of those seven years, we will return with Him as He puts an end to the bloodshed and establishes His kingdom. Follow Jesus.
